To meet the growing demand for advanced OLED display technologies, Japan Display Inc. (JDI) has developed a revolutionary next-generation OLED technology called eLEAP. eLEAP is the world’s first OLED produced using photolithography, enabling low-cost, high-precision pixel patterning. JDI has now partnered with Innolux and its subsidiary CarUX to accelerate the adoption of eLEAP in automotive applications.
JDI, CarUX, and Innolux have signed an agreement to form the eLEAP Strategic Alliance, aiming to deliver innovative eLEAP-based display products and solutions to global customers.
The eLEAP technology developed by JDI doubles OLED brightness and triples lifespan, addressing the demand for vivid, high-resolution, energy-efficient displays at lower costs. Compared to conventional OLED, eLEAP’s efficient manufacturing process cuts carbon emissions by 50%, making it an environmentally friendly solution.
The first product from the eLEAP Strategic Alliance is a 32-inch integrated in-car OLED display jointly promoted by CarUX and JDI, with Innolux providing support for production. Compared to JDI’s current high-end 32-inch automotive-grade LCD, the eLEAP display reduces energy consumption by 76%, enhances resolution by 12%, increases brightness by 15%, and improves contrast ratio by 690 times.
“JDI holds the highest respect for Innolux and CarUX, along with their exceptional technological capabilities and integrity. We are honored to collaborate with them to build a global eLEAP ecosystem and better serve our customers,” said Scott Callon, Chairman and CEO of Japan Display Inc.
“We believe eLEAP is a truly revolutionary display technology, and we look forward to working with JDI to showcase its extraordinary performance to the world,” said Chin-Yang Hung, Chairman and CEO of Innolux Corporation.
