Previously, there were reports in the media that GPU giant Nvidia did not develop Arm architecture processors for PCs on its own, but chose to collaborate with IC design giant MediaTek. The first product from the collaboration will use TSMC's advanced CoWoS packaging technology, with the ultimate goal of entering the high-end laptop CPU market.

According to the report from the foreign media Wccftech, Nvidia and MediaTek plan to release this Arm architecture PC processor in the first half of 2025, hoping to dominate the rapidly growing AI PC field. For MediaTek, which focuses on developing mobile processor platforms, designing a low-power notebook chip is expected to not be difficult, and Nvidia's involvement will enhance graphics performance, indicating that the processor will not only have impressive performance, but also good power consumption.

The report pointed out that the Arm architecture processor from Nvidia and MediaTek is still in the design phase, with verification and sampling expected to take place in the next quarter. It will be built using TSMC's 3nm process technology to meet the 2025 release timeline. In the past, Nvidia and MediaTek have been low-key in the PC processor arena, and the market is expecting the new processor to potentially bring unexpected performance and change the market dynamics in the short term. Currently, Intel and AMD are focusing on their respective areas, which also gives MediaTek some opportunities.

The AI PC field is expected to grow significantly in the coming years. In view of this, every manufacturer is rushing to launch products with AI technology. Given the respective strengths of Nvidia and MediaTek, the outlook for this PC processor can be relatively optimistic.
